Kerala. | The contribution of non-resident Keralites to the economic sustainability and rise in the standard of living of the State is beyond comparison. We have now passed a unique Welfare Fund Act for our brothers working hard abroad. It is for the first time that such a law comes into being in the country. This welfare fund will embrace more than 50 lakh members comprising those now working abroad and in other states of the country, those who have returned and the dependents of both. It assures pension, financial aid for medical treatment, education, housing etc. NORKA offices are also coming into being, in addition, in all district collectorates to extend help to non-resident people and their families. I request the cooperation of all our people for the grand success of this venture and the realisation of this scheme by all those concerned with it. |
